The Sunday walkers generally meet around 10.00am. We tend to rotate the walks around local parks and beauty spots, getting there by car or public transport. We usually travel to Astbury Mere by car or cars used depending on numbers. If we are visiting somewhere like Westport Lake, Tunstall Park, Burslem Park and occasionally Hanley Forest Park we may take the bus and part walk and part bus back. There's generally coffee or tea, cake 🍰 even bacon butties or oatcakes involved. We have a WhatsApp group set up, so we can ask who's going, who is available if we need cars, and from there make the arrangements. It's more genteel than the longer walks group on a Tuesday, with an occasional one more strenuous, when we may walk to Westport, Chatterley and Tunstall.
